Yesterday we completed our experiment to post daily for 100 days.
At times ideas and material flowed in abundance and with ease, supplying copy for a number of posts, in whole or part. At other times there was a dearth, and we needed to dig and delve to find material of interest. Either way, it’s an experiment that’s proved both instructive and satisfying – for us. And for you, dear readers, well we’ve been grateful for your likes and comments and enjoyed responding.
If we’ve been more diligent in posting, then we’ve been scarcely less so in reading and commenting on your posts. Perhaps a little less consistently than we’ve been posting – but then there are a lot more of you to get round!
Our 100-day Streak (as WordPress likes to call it) has made us especially appreciative of those remarkable handful amongst you who have posted daily, indefatigably, consistently, for not just one hundred days, but hundreds and hundreds of days, some without any interruption for years ; and without loss of focus or quality (if anything, their posts get better and better).
But now we come to the inevitable question : Will we continue posting daily?
Sadly, no : it doesn’t work for us ; but we have learned, thanks to this experiment, to see the value in the small and ordinary – especially when still fresh in our thoughts.
Daily – no. Spontaneous – definitely!
