Time is running out for our Uist Landscapes range of handspun merino DK yarns! Since we first announced that we would be discontinuing these yarns, demand for them has greatly increased, whilst the remaining stock of coloured merino fibres is now dwindling fast. We had envisaged it would be a ‘few years’, but in the event it’s taken just two to reach the end of the road.
This gorgeous Shetland Lace Scarf in Scabious was finished last night, and was displayed in the shop this morning – the very last of its kind.
This morning there were also nine skeins of Scabious on the shelves, but at lunchtime a lady – quite likely inspired by the newly-displayed scarf! – bought two skeins, and our pattern for knitting the scarf. Now, there’s just seven skeins left – and I won’t be making any more.
Atlantic is down to just two skeins left in the shop. Again, a Shetland Lace Scarf could be made with these – but not by me!
There’s also two skeins of Red Sky left, six skein of Crotal, and about seven skeins of Peat Stack too. But when they’re gone, they’re gone – like Mountain Haze already is!
To Buy : The scarf is priced at £78. Skeins of yarn are priced individually according to weight, but are typically £25.50 for a 75g skein. The pattern for the Shetland Lace Scarf costs £4.50. Ideally, visit us at the Hebridean Woolshed’s studio shop in the walled garden, here in South Uist. Alternatively, contact us to enquire : we can take card payment over the phone, and delivery charges are as stated in our online shop.
