Jonathan: Yet another fine sunny day, but watch out for the cold wind from the south east! Which just goes to show that cold does not just come from the north – our most reliably mild weather comes off the Atlantic from the south and south-west. However the sunshine is very welcome. A goose who’d been sitting on three eggs (clearly a novice – four to five weeks of sitting for just three!) had hatched two of them on Easter Sunday, and sitting fast on the remaining egg, today had only one. But now her sister who had six goslings suddenly seems to have eight! She did this last year, rounding up all the goslings for herself. It was lovely to watch her encouraging them all to cross a ditch to come over to me for some grain.
