Jonathan: ‘Social Skills’ used to be about humans communicating ; now its getting facebook, twitter, google+ etc to talk to eachother! Either way I still find it a struggle!
Jonathan: The new/replacement Dell Precision M65 computer bought on ebay came today. Immediately apparent from the packaging and above all the computer itself that has never been used (other than to wipe the hard disk of the Swedish operating system and load the standard UK disk image), and it may even be brand new. The UK replacement keyboard came a couple of days ago, and has proved very easy to fit, so in effect I have a brand new computer that two years ago would have cost more than £1500, all for little more than £150! There’s no doubt that this computer oozes quality and performance, but the fact is that it’s no good with Windows Vista or 7, just XP; but that’s just fine by me! Anyway, lot’s of network changes, file transfers, printer set up etc etc to do, so better get started – I’ll be working on it into the small hours, no doubt.
Denise: J is now thoroughly dis-chuffed. He’s just discovered that in transferring data to the new computers, he forgot to include recent photos in the backup of data. Result: we’ve lost all the digital photos taken over the past two months, some of which he was especially pleased with and was going to use in websites.
