Denise: Just finished this new ladies cardigan Uist Sea, Uist Sky. Much of the knitting was done driving to and from Benebecula (and elsewhere). Or, more correctly – as Jonathan points out – ‘passengering’. He was driving, not me. I was knitting, not he! There’s more about this on the Hebridean Woolshed website. The cardigan, not the drive-by knitting!
Jonathan: It’s all scarves this week! Woven and knitted, but always with handspun wools so enough to keep Denise busy at the spinning wheel a good bit of each day. A couple of days ago she finished weaving two scarves in handspun Shetland wool. Rather fancy the moorit one myself, but alas I already have more scarves than I can possibly wear out in a lifetime! Yesterday she finished a hand-knitted scarf in hand-spun merino wool, which is to be honest a bit too lacy for me to carry off! [By the way, gu leor is Gaelic for plenty – enough ; it’s anglicized as galore.]
