Jonathan: Looks like I was a bit hard on the mainlander’s idea of bad weather (my boxing day blog). Very strong winds and heavy rain here last night, followed by a blizzard conditions around 6am-7am causing me to turn back from journey to a site meeting in the Isle of Harris. But it looks like it was much worse on the mainland. Not just traffic disruption – worse in every sense. A lot of damaged houses, and cars and homes ripped open. Gust speeds up around 90mph in a built up area is pretty serious – lot’s of stuff to get blown down or around. At least we’re accustomed to that kind of thing here.
