Eight Askernish, Isle of South Uist

Eight Askernish, Isle of South UistEight Askernish is an authentic early 20thC Hebridean crofter’s cottage, situated amidst a traditional crofting township on the Atlantic coast of South Uist

We sold the cottage at the end of October 2020, fifteen years after we bought, gutted and rebuilt it in 2005. The cottage is now a private residence.

We’re  grateful for the opportunity we had to not only earn an income, but transform the cottage from its half-ruined state into a comfortable modern home.  The proceeds of the sale are earmarked for a new project outwith the islands.
