At the Eroski supermarket in Tafalla – browsing speciality cheeses, especially those from here in Navarra.
But what’s this – a cheese from the UK ?
Wells, Wells, Wells, it’s Cathedral City – what a surprise!
To Spanish tastes, it has the distinctively English flavour and texture of a ‘Cheddar’ type of cheese. In the UK, however, it’s just one of many mid-market, high-volume cheeses sold under a vacuous brand name that’s devised to deceive. In this instance, it’s Cathedral City. It might just as likely have been Pilgrim’s Choice.
Heritage = Cheese !
