Aftermath, Storm Erik
Jonathan >
Very windy, today – the aftermath of Storm Erik, but bright enough for a walk with Tilly up on the hills that rise up behind the walled garden. This photo was taken from Coire nan Cuileag †, a very steep-sided corrie below the western summit of Easabhal.
† Coire nan Cuileag = The corrie of the fly. Presumably it’s relatively sheltered there – if not today, and in summer, there would be flies – including perhaps those blood-sucking horse-flies.
That could be a beautiful tapestry weaving! Incredible! Does it have more reflective color in different seasons?
Of course, you could always add many colors to it. But it might be very interesting in one color such as a blue or purple along with an added gray scale of light and dark.
Things that make you go, “Hmmmm!”
J > That’s what the Uist land- and sea-scapes do to people with artistic sensibilities. We see inspiration everywhere! Sometimes I’m struck with awe at the beauty : in winter, especially.
Glorious picture!
Thank you!
It seems as though there is beauty no matter where you look.
Beautiful photos lately.
J > Thank you. I enjoy getting out and seeing what Mother Nature has on offer today! I get the most out of photography when I treat the scene to be photographed as if it were a person, whose character or personality I’m trying to capture.
