Denise: Christmas Day. Quiet is our style. Can’t really expect family to gather from the four corners at this time of year – better in summer! And we don’t go in for all the high-pressure Christmas presents, trees, food and drink, parties etc. No we’re not atheists, nor are we Ebeneezers or even just grumpy without even bothering to look for label to justify it. No, it’s that none of those things is what Christmas is about, and we get much more joy from simply having a day free of labour and enjoying a walk on the beach with the dog.  But not this year! The wind is far too violent today!  It’s another bruiser, and looks worse for tomorrow.
