Carrick Eriskay : Refreshed
Jonathan: A couple of days ago I discovered that one of our key internet domains, carrickeriskay.scot was incorrectly configured, pointing to new website for Carrick that I’d started to build but had to leave unfinished to do other higher-priority work. It must have been like that for months! Thankfully the old domain and website – originally built December 2009 before tablets and smartphones – was still working, though despite regular tweaks and updates is no longer really fit for purpose. Well, better late than far too late: I’ve spent most of the last two days completing the build of the new Carrick Eriskay website, re-cycling some content from the old website and authoriing new. So now it’s done, the new website is at http://carrickeriskay.scot , the old is now just a redirect to the same site. As ever, the most challenging and time-consuming aspect of website design is images. I really need to spend time out and about with a camera, and I mean un-pressured time to explore unfamilar viewpoints, different angles, and above all inconvenient times of day, like sunrise and sunset.
