Cnoc a Deas
Jonathan >
Spring has Sprung! There might not yet much of it to see, but my goodness can’t we feel it! In the Outer Hebrides – and the nearby North West Highlands – early Spring is heralded in with razor-sharp, very cold, very very dry air from the north and north west. The extreme lack of moisture or specks of dust in the air means that there’s nothing to scatter the light – and the UV burns! The colours are intense, the contrast stark, and the lively breeze stirs everything into movement.
Mid afternoon, and with most of the day’s tasks complete, and the rest put aside for now, I picked up my camera – and a warm jacket – and called Tilly. We didn’t go far – we don’t need to : across the road, and up onto the headland known as Cnoc a Deas [Southern Hillock].
What a view! Send some spring our way. Maine is still very much in winter’s grip.
