Decorating Disaster
Denise >
The weather forecasts – Met Office, BBC Weather, Google Weather, XC-Weather – all agreed : the day would be overcast but still and dry. Perfect for our final session repainting the outside of Eight Askernish.
We’d almost finished renewing the ‘Goosewing’ grey paint to the skews, window in-goes and cills, when the rain started.
It didn’t last long. It didn’t need to!
In these photos doesn’t look so bad, but this is as we emerged from sheltering in the house. We immediately set-too with old towels, soaking up the watery paint and any streaks, but later we found streaks of grey over large areas of the white paint (completed three weeks ago – when the end of February was like the start of May).
We wanted the house smartened up for the first guests of the season, arriving later today. Unfortunately we’re going to have to leave our apologies for the decorating disaster : we haven’t even had the time to tidy up properly, though there’s no wet paint now.
It looks nice and fresh to me!

How irritating! The white does look nice and bright, though.
Uh Oh, I’m sure they will understand and maybe you will get enough good weather to repair the damage soon.
D > Oh I do hope so : We’ve surely had our quota of wind and rain already!
