  1. I love that you are growing your own fruit to ferment into wine. Not being much of a wine drinker myself, I think this is a lovely way to use up all of the gooseberries you likely harvest each year. There are only so many jars of jelly and gooseberry pies that one can eat or sell. And if it ages well over the years, your wines will then be even more mellow.

    Have you tried using a few cups of your gooseberry wine for brining duck, chicken or goose before baking or roasting? With a bit of rosemary and some other flavorful ingredients, I’ll bet that would be a melt-in-your-mouth delicious experience!

  2. I have fond memories of my late father in law making wine of anything that moved in the garden or hedgerow! One of the most drinkable was his gooseberry. We used to sit around on cold winter evening by the fire with a glass of homemade wine and crackers and cheese. We plan to make wines from our berries once we have enough of them, and once we have a kitchen
