New Year’s Day 2019
Jonathan & Denise >
New Year’s Day – 2019. Dinner : Not an especially special dinner, not for New Year’s Day. But special all the same – because it is entirely home-grown. (Well, everything except the salt, and olive oil for roasting the vegetables) Roast Hebridean hogget lamb from our croft ; Roast parsnips and potatoes, plus curly kale, from the walled garden. The hogget lamb is tender, very dark, and richly flavoured – wonderful!
Wholly home-grown meals are relatively common-place in this household, and most are mainly home-grown ; but it just struck us how fortunate we are to be able to feed ourselves like this!
Happy New Year, everyone : may you prosper and be happy!
Very Best Wishes back to you!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year both! I have never tasted hogget -one to try once we’re up there. Even mutton is difficult to get down South, although it was sold widely in France where they appreciate the richer taste of the older meat. Yours sounds gorgeous
Happy New Year to y’all too! Like you, I have so much for which to be thankful.
Your meal looks delicious and savory indeed! I think its wonderful that you have been able to raise the meat and vegetables yourselves. I wish I could do the same, but sadly for me, that is not physically possible.
Have a lovely day and evening! May your year be prosperous in all that you do and attempt.
Happy New Year….. Happiness….. Health in 2019
