Remains Of The Day
Jonathan & Denise >
No, not the famous book ; and, no, with all those trees, this is definitely not in Uist!
Here we have a photo by our daughter Becky, whose natural talent is clearly evident in this exceptionally well composed and captured photo (though luck does certainly have a role in these things). And for such a small image file, the quality is remarkable.
What appears – at first sight – to be an entirely dark area below the hill, is in fact – when the image is clicked on and viewed full size – rich with detail and subtle graduations of shadow.
The viewpoint is above the Towy valley, in Wales. This is the sort of landscape that Denise and I hope to get to know better, next spring – hopefully ; but don’t read that as an indication that we’re about to give up our life in Uist. We’re spending the winter spinning, weaving, maintaining buildings … all the things we usually do to prepare for the ‘season’ of the next year.
Beautiful shot — the colors are exquisite. Becky – and you – both have “it” for special images. Wanted to mention a photography group, growing around the world, Nature First Photography. On Facebook, naturally – there is a UK page, too. Stresses caring for nature- the land, the animals- in our photography. I joined early, even though i am strictly amateur.
Beautiful!
